Wickett and his Ears
They are not ears, per se, but satellites. That's how he knows what I'm doing at night and when I'm close enough to deserve a barking. With and without hair, for your viewing pleasure.

I've never seen Wickett without all his fur. He's a very cute dog when he's groomed, but not as cute as Mikey ;)
Well, I don't consider Dixie to be cute in the same way as Wickett and Mikey. Dixie is gorgeous, beautiful and stunning. She's a good-looking dog, and deserves the "Princess" title she earned. But she doesn't make me say "Aaaaaaaaaw" the way that the two boys do. So I guess what I'm saying is that she's not a cute dog, she's a beautiful dog.
If I met her I might disagree, though.
BTW - No dog is cuter than James. There I said it. :)
About ableist language on my blog to any new readers - there is going to be some on old posts (pre November '09, I'd say roughly).
I'm not necessarily proud, but I'm not going to go back and edit the posts to clear them up, even though I want to and go look, I've been a good little activist all along!
But that's a lie and it's disingenuous. It's also a disservice to the few people who do read the posts.
On a personal note, it's a disservice to me. I can go look at my posts from 2008 and compare them to ones in 2010 and see how I've grown as a writer and as a human being. It's nice to see how far we've come in life, you know?
I am truly sorry if anything here hurts somebody, and even if it's on a post from 2006, do not feel shy to tell me - e-mail me at otrumpets at yahoo dot com or comment. (I get a notification with every comment, so if you do comment on an old one, I'll know and reply.)
Ableist Word Profile at FWD
This is a good place to start. It's an ongoing series.
The posts are "101" so feel free to ask questions, as long as they're not "FREE SPEECH!!!!" or "Why does this matter?"

Mikey is quite happy upon hearing this news.
It makes up for the fact that he can't have any dog food right now, because the evil one put it up on the table.
And um, where does Dixie fit into your cuteness ranking?
(Wickett is cuter than James, there, I said it.;))
When Wickett went to the vet before his snip-snip and grooming, he weighed 8 pounds.
When he left, he weighed 6. That much hair.
(No, when he came back in for stitches removal, he was back up to 8, I mean 80, he totally kicked Dixie's butt today.)
